Earned Income Credit Tax Table
There are very hardworking people that are missing the importance of the earned income credit tax table. It was created for those people who work in order to make a living but they don’t get a lot of money. The tax was created way back in 1975 to help with the federal business taxes and also as a benefit program for the working families.
For one to qualify for the income credit, they must meet the age and citizenship requirements. The credit does not cater for those people that are married, therefore if you are married, you will need to fill that form separately. Your income also should not be exceeding the amounts of $3,200.
There are very many people that are qualifying for this credit because they have either lost their jobs or their income has been reduced; there are those that have changed their marital status and have more children. If one has a family where they have more than three children, then they are entitled to a bigger share of that credit. This credit was signed into law in 2009 and the maximum amount of income is $ 5,657.
The individuals who qualify for this credit are asked to fill their tax forms early so that the IRS can determine whether they are eligible or not. The IRS has established that about 20% of the population is eligible for it, but some of them are not even aware of it. They do however have a refund scheme and awareness programs. On their websites, they also place articles about the income taxes. Most of this information is rather complex; it would be easier to call the revenue service office and ask them any questions that you may have regarding it. If there are areas that you also have doubts, it is best to call and seek clarification from them.
Below is a scenario of how the EITC qualifies for the credit, and this applies if you are married and have kids. The credits for last year were as follows:
* $5,657 for couples with three or more children
* $5,028 for couples with two qualifying children
* $3,043 for those couples with one qualifying child
* $ 457 with no children or children that do not qualify.
Always remember that you are required to fill a tax return form for you to be able to claim the credit that is provided for by the EITC.
